Weather in the Windy City can always be unpredictable. For Jackson and Megan, the day started with pouring rain throughout the city. With their ceremony taking place in the beautiful Maggie Daley Park, guests arrived with umbrellas and rain jackets with smiles on their faces.
As a proud dad of two amazing girls and one crazy boy, I am always out and about taking photos of the three of them. Family photos is the bread and butter of my business and I would be hard pressed not to share some of my own family photos on my site. Most of the time, I scout new locations and these three as my test models.
When you think of the Chicago suburbs, Naperville always comes to mind. It's one of those towns that pretty much has it all. Alison & Thomas started their day at the Marriott Naperville. With a fairly large wedding party, they made the decision to get ready in the hotel conference rooms. Drinks were flowing and smiles were had by all during the afternoon wedding preparation.
Yajaira and Corey seemed to love all sorts of things. They love each other, their friends and family, and some might even say they love some grass :) Not everyone can pull off a wedding on the 4/20, but these two did with style...
Most couples forget that a wedding day can be anything you want. Weddings can be pretty predictable when it comes to timelines. With a fresh of breath air, Lynette & Ed decided to break those traditions and created a wedding day that fit them.
Katy & Jon have a wonderful spirit about them. From the moment I showed up to the time I left, both of them had a huge smile on their face. They beamed with happiness and it was amplified by their friends and family throughout the day.
Engagement sessions are always a great way to get to know a couples personally before the wedding day. It allows the photographer and couple to build a relationship that makes everyone a little bit more comfortable.
You could tell right away Alex and Amber had a great spirit about them. Laughing and smiling throughout the entire shoot they seemed to beam with happiness. Although the weather was a little chilly, Alex and Amber bundled up and took some great photos.
Mike & Laurie started their day at the beautiful St. Cryrill & Methodius Parish in Lemont, IL. The church was the perfect backdrop for them to start their lives together as husband and wife. With a full mass ceremony, Mike & Laurie decided to add some special details to make it their own. The children's choir sang overhead while Laurie walked down the aisle underneath the swords of the Knights of Columbus.
Paula & Joe couldn't have picked a better summer day in Chicago to get married. Blue skies and sunshine covered the area putting everyone in the Chicagoland area in a great mood! The day started off at the Westin River North where I had the chance to capture Paula and her bridesmaids getting ready for the day. The ceremony took place at the beautiful Madonna della Strada Chapel on the Loyola University's Chicago campus.

77 degrees and sunny. You couldn't have asked for a better summer day for a wedding. Dana and Alex made the day special by adding personal touches all over the ceremony and reception. The ceremony was held at The Wayside Chapel in Palos Park, IL and was one of the most beautiful outdoor settings I have seen.
The air was a little chilly, but Kelly & Rod's wedding day turned out to be a great one. It's always refreshing when you have a couple who can stay relaxed and enjoy every minute of the day. Both the ceremony & reception were held at Seven Bridges Golf Club in Woodridge, IL. All night long, the club house was full of joy as family and friends celebrated Kelly & Rod tying the knot. From the heartfelt speeches to the craziness going on in the photo booth, everyone seemed to have the time of their lives. You know it's a good party when the bride grabs the mic from the DJ and starts belting out song after song. Congrats Kelly & Rod!

Alex and Dana were so much fun to shoot. It's mainly because of their care-free and fun attitude on top of the chemistry they have for one another. The sun was blazing and the bees were stinging, but we battled through the heat and got some great shots.
With summer in high gear, I had the pleasure of hanging out with the Horner family. We decided the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL would be a nice backdrop for some family shots while the grandparents were in town.
One of the great things about living in the western suburbs of Chicago is having so many great places to take family photos. Cantigny Park in Wheaton has to be one of my favorites.
Weddings should always be a reflection of a couple's personality, and Scott & Jenn made sure their wedding day was nothing short of that. The day started off at Hotel Allegro where Scott got to see Jenn for the first look.
One thing I have learned over the years is that sometimes keeping things simple can go a long way. Mollie & Jacob did exactly that; they didn't follow the traditions and decided to make their wedding unique with some of their favorite things.
Declan is one of those kids that can just melt your heart. When you look at him you can't help but smile. With two great parents and one funny older brother, Declan couldn't have asked for a better family to be a part of.
I love winter for a number of reasons. Maybe it's the slower pace that this time of year brings, but it also allows for some super amazing couples to swoop in and breath some serious life into Chicago's coolest venues.
What can I say about Henry other than he is one cool little dude! One of the main reasons why I decided to jump into photography was to help couples and families capture amazing moments.
